Tips To Make Your First RV Camping Trip A Successful One
If you have recently purchased an RV and are going RV camping for the first time, you may be understandably excited and ready to go. However, because it is your first trip, you may need a few tips to help you make your first RV camping trip as successful and fun as possible. Get to know a few of these tips that can help you out in your RV camping adventures. Then, you can be sure you are prepared for your first big RV adventure.
Do Not Try to Set Up Camp after 10 PM
To be as courteous and considerate as possible to your fellow campers in the RV campground, you should try to avoid arriving and setting up camp anywhere after 10:00 at night. This is sort of an unspoken rule among seasoned campers.
Most people camping are in bed or at least starting to wind down by 10:00 PM and are expecting others around them to be courteous and respectful. Unfortunately, driving into the campground and setting up camp is a noisy endeavor, especially if there are campers in the spots next to you. So, try to avoid this rookie mistake if at all possible.
Turn Off the Outdoor Lights When You Go to Bed
If you have lights on your awning or an outdoor light on your RV, be sure you turn those off when you turn in for the night. These lights can be annoying to campers around you if the lights shine in their eyes while they are trying to sleep.
Additionally, people go out in nature to be in nature. This means without artificial lights interfering with their views and the scenery (like the stars, for example). So, if you can, turn off your lights well before you go to bed to enjoy the scenery and serenity yourself. But at the very least, turn those lights off when you head for bed so that other people will not be bothered or disturbed.
Add Sage to Campfires to Repel Bugs
When you are setting up your campfire for the evening, you will want to add some sage bundles to the fire. Sage is a natural insect repellent and will help to keep flies and mosquitoes away from you while you sit out around the fire and enjoy the great outdoors. Always carry a few sage bundles with you when you are camping, and you will have far fewer bug issues than the other campers around you.
Now that you know a few tips to make your first RV camping trip a successful one, you can get your first trip started feeling prepared and confident.
